Have you ever wished you knew what your animal companion was thinking or feeling?
A consultation is your opportunity to gain understanding, directly from the animal, about what they are experiencing, thinking, or feeling around physical issues, behavioral issues, death and dying, or if they are lost. The consultation can provide you with information that can help answer questions, make decisions, or just connect at a deeper level. There are 3 phases to the consultation - an information gathering session, a one hour conversation with the animal, and a debrief with all the details and some recommendations.
Distance consultations and with any species.
Physical Issues
For animals with physical illness, injury, trauma, or deficits. I will ask the animal what they are experiencing and relay the animal's description of physical feelings, sensations, and level of pain as well as any emotional upset that might be contributing to the physical problem. Diagnosis and treatment should be in consultation with your veterinarian.
Behavioral Issues
Animal behavior can be a physical reaction, emotionally based, or sometimes just their misunderstanding of a situation. I will talk to the animal about what is causing the behavior and explain why change is needed. Just like for us, behavior change for animals can take some time and usually depends on active commitment and involvement from their people.
Lost Animals
Having a lost animal can be a very upsetting situation. While there is no guarantee that through the consultation the animal will be found I will try to determine as many details as I can about whether they are roaming, have been picked up, the environment where they are, and whether the animal is still in their body. After the consultation, the animal does not continue to talk with me or send me new images. If after a week or two the animal still has not been found, additional consultations can be scheduled.
Death and Dying
Losing a beloved animal companion is a difficult and complex process. There are so many emotions and questions to navigate. It is important to talk about the upcoming transition ahead of time so that the animal can leave in a very peaceful and loving way. This is really the animal's process so it is important to also consider how they feel about their specific desires. I will gently ask the important questions. For example, Are they ready to transition? Do they want assistance? Where would they like to transition?
